i was just reading a story:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/news/3265399/Neighbours-fear-abuse-from-young

Thought i would checkout Crewe Crescent, in Hokowhitu on google streetview but it won't work. I thought every street in new zealand would be covered, apart from new streets built in the past few years which i don't think Crewe Crescent, in Hokowhitu is.

what alternative is there to street view that will enable me to look at Crewe Crescent, in Hokowhitu?

No not every street on google maps has a streetview.

You will have to wait until either, they do a streetview or see what Terralink have to offer when they release their service.

Not even every street is properly on Google Maps. Look for Jan Place in Pakuranga, Auckland. Apparently it does not connect to Tiraumea Drive. Now this area is 40+ years old and as far as I know Jan Place was always connected through (see satellite view).

It used to be connected on all on-line maps, then slowly the connection disappeared until I think only Wises was correct, and now even they are wrong. Found all of them use the same data provider, but the provider has it correct on their web site. All I can think is that Google (and everyone else) are using outdated maps.

Is there someone that can request a correction from Google? I'm not into signing up with them just for this one fault.

Heh my mate just moved from Jan place...... and yup, i can confirm also it goes straight through :)

I see the map for the North Shore has been updated finally at the souther end of William Pickering Drive - even the directions feature used to direct you along Upper Harbour Highway then tell you to turn right into William pickering - havent been able to do that for years yet Google insisted you could ;)

Dont know how many near misses that caused ;)

Going from one continent to another was amusing.... start in the UK, get directions for NZ - would direct you along the roads then state "Swim for xxxkms"

Crewe Crescent isn't new, it's the rougher part of Hokowhitu (lots of state houses etc). Maybe they were scared that their car would get mugged when they went down there ;-)
