I've just recieved a Dell Poweredge 2550.

I have two problems (so i believe)

1: When i turn it on the orange light on the front server starts blinking
2: The fans are going mental, if they spin any faster i swear it'll take off lol

I have both psu's connected, everything is all where it should be.
It posts fine too (although it does take a while to get through it)

I hope that is enough information?

I take it this is a 2nd hand server with no support options from Dell?

I don't have direct experience with Dell Servers (just HP, Intel and Supermicro), but generally if the fans are going full speed it either means that a fan has failed, a fan is missing, or the motherboard hasn't been provisioned correctly for the chassis.

yea it's second hand.

It posts fine, however i'd like to know it's working properly

The only thing i could think of is that the drives could be dead..

All fans seem to be there, green light is fine until half way during post.

I'll be sending the seller an email lol
