Anyone used any duplicate file finding software on Windows ? What was your experience with it ?

Ive got 9000+ photos in a directory and Im pretty sure quite a few are duplicates etc that i can bump off....

grrrr. just replied, hit post and the reply disappeared. really hate it when GZ does that.

i looked into this a while back and didnt find anything free that suited my requirements. there are bunch of free tools that compare by filename, but that usually isnt enough. at minimum you need a binary compare as two pics might be the same with diff filenames. better still a utility that looks at the EXIF data. ideally you want a 'fuzzy' compare that looks for very similar photos - that way you can reduce 10 shots of the same thing, down to only the best 1 or 2. There was a shareware title that did that but i've misplaced the name
