Thought I would give it a shot, so did the click to run installation,

All works well except outlook. It opened with no accounts etc.

Now in my control panel I have 2 mail icons - one is called Mail (32 bit) and the second is Mail (virtual)

They seem to have the accounts for each version of outlook (the old 2007 is 32 bit, the virtual is for 2010)

Problem is everytime an app calls outlook, 2010 opens with none of my accounts, indexing in 2007 is broken now, and I can find no way to move my 20 odd imap accounts into 2010, and setting them up again isnt an option since I have about 14 gigs of stuff in PSTs that it would want to redownload from the variuos gmail accounts.

So anyone know how to either get 2010 working with the same accounts, get 2007 to work properly again while keeping 2010 on there, or else a way to remove outlook without taking the rest of office 2010 with it, since the click to run seems to have stuff all options about what apps are installed.

Wrong answer. You buy the software when it is released. If you want there are free alternative software without having to pirate something.

Recommending this kind of actions is against the FUG.

We all pay alot of money for MSDN so I doubt people will give out MDSN logins on here.

I have not had the same issues with the beta and my exchange accounts, I upgraded 3 machines when the beta came out and they all worked fine.

When upgrading to the RTM I uninstalled the beta then installed the RTM and it kept all of my accounts.

My suggestion (since nothing seems to be working for you) is to uninstall the beta then reinstall the beta seleting upgrade rather than leaving the 2007 office on the machine (can't remember the options since it's so long ago since I have installed it)

Another thought is to use the switch at the end of the short cut to open the correct profile.

I haven't had any issues, I have the full enterprise edition and it works well, upgraded from my 2007 with no issues (Exchange server)

Will test it from home tonight and upgrade to see if I have any issues like yours, but I only use pop from home...so I don't know it's an imap only issue?

I meant that I have an MSDN subscription, not that I was giving it away. Laughing

Not sure if this is correct answer either... Wink

There is no selection for what to install when using that click and install thingie, it puts icons for everything and makes you wait while it does stuff when you click on them.

Uninstalled it and will have a play later when I have another machine spare.
