my motherboard is m4a79xtd evo
im running windows 7 64bit.
i have a hotswap tray installed in my case.
the thing is when i go to put a different samsung f3 in, it will not be recognised.
the drive will only appear once i reboot my computer.
so i think it must be a driver issue regarding the mtoherboard
or i need to install a driver.
it could also be a bios setting i need to adjust seeing as the drive shows up perfectly after boot

hoping someone can help me out here.
thanks muchly

Sound like your bios has the SATA mode set to Standard or IDE instead of AHCI.

AHCI is the newer mode that allows various features like hot swapping SATA and eSATA and Native command queuing

However to switch this mode now after windows is already installed you will need to enable the MS AHCI service and possibly pre-install proper drivers for your motherboards sata controller.

Something like this
