I have a Numark DJ|iO USB sound card, and when using it with Virtual DJ, every 5 or so minutes I get a high pitched, whistling sound which lasts 5-15 seconds.

I've tried powering the sound card (it can just run off USB), running the laptop just off battery, swapping USB plugs but nothing works.

Suggestions on anything else to try?

Typical me, I wait until hours before I need to DJ again before I try to fix this Undecided

Did more reading online, and someone suggested a powered USB hub.  A visit to DSE and $50 poorer, and it seems to have fixed the issues - fingers crossed.

Will post after the gig tonight, hopefully this has fixed my issue once and for all.
