Hey all,

Ive got a Seagate 500GB External HDD.
Just wondering if you can get a power adaptor/ cable that you can either connect to the end of the power plug (i.e. from a wall plug to USB) or a seperate USB cable which is plugged into the HDD where the power cable is usually connected???

e.g. so the HDD would be connected to the computer through 2 USB Cables (one for data transfer, and one that acts as a power cable)

If anyone knows of any can you please send me a link, thanks :)

It'll require more than just 5v from what USB can supply... so I think it is unlikely.

Depending on the ext HDD, mine runs of 12v 2A, you will not be running it off USB.
