hi. looking for a sms 2 email solution for small business. not necessarily needing to reply to sms. google voice looks good but not for nz. have tried a vodem to get sms straight to pc, but plays havoc with TAPI dialling on other software.

How about clickatell http://www.clickatell.com. Do you have a specific NZ number you need the text to come to? They have an API etc.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Do you mean email to SMS rather than SMS to email?

Didn't vodafone used to offer something where you could email a cell number@vodafone.net or something and the email would go to the cell phone, and vice versa, some number you emailed and it got sent to the phone?. Think phone owner paid all costs per text.

yep that is txtmail and is still available. normally initiated by email to 02xxxxxxx@txtmail.co.nz but the number that shows on phone for replying, changes per device. we need a solution where any SMS sent to a specific 02x number is automatically is forwarded without any changes made, to a specific email address.

Might want to Google for some GSM devices that can do this. I seem to remember coming across some with serial connections in which it was being used for this purpose.
