hi

I am relitivly inexperienced with computer but my awesome friend told me how to change the logon screen using a program called Logon loader.exe
I stupidly but accidently inserted something called explorer.exe as my logon screen, something I did not notice until to late, as the preview place did not change. It told me to restart to save changes, which I did Embarassed.
Now when I logon It looks like normal windows, I think i'm running an operating system called windows XP. My friend suggested I run the computer in something called safe mode with commander prompt. But this didn't work because the diference was the 4 corners had safe mode written in them.

I urgently require help, Because I have lots of work to do, I have some very expensive programs that I have lost the disk too. I also do not have an operating system disk because it came on the computer. I also have no money to spend.

Thankyou so much if you you can help. Wink

Cant you just uninstall the program? it should return whatever settings you had before todo with the login screen or desktop.

Check your start menu or if you can find it the add/remove programs option within the control panel.

Cheers

If you're serious, I suggest a hands off approach - i.e. get a professional invovled to fix it.

I dont get it.  you inserted explorer.exe and now you are running Windows XP?

Wheres the problem?  Unless you were previously running Windows 7 or a MAC???

Commander Keen definitely cant help anyways...

When you run Windows in safe mode you have a small version of Windows with some additional stuff temporarily removed.

Once you are in Safe Mode you can revert the change made by this program.

Or if you don't know what you are doing (it seems this is the case), follow Paul's suggestion and get the computer to a technician to do it safely.
