Seems my OS drive is either dying or something, so will get another tomorrow.

Budget doesnt quite stretch to the WD black that I would normally get, so was wondering how the blues compared - obviously there is no way in hell I will be getting one of the cheap green ones, but if the blue is not that much better than a green I might just wait a little longer till I can afford the black.

Edit: just realized I didnt actually ask anything.

So has anyone got a blue they have had in a machine for a while and can confirm they dont suffer from the slow down to useless that the greens have?

Samsung F3 (performance model is called "SpinPoint", green model is called "EcoGreen").

The Samsung F3 "SpinPoint" is both slightly: cheaper and better performance than a WD Black.  I probably wouldn't bother with a WD Blue tbh.

My take on a WD blue is that its a godly middle ground between greens and blacks. I got one about a month back and I'm pretty sure they don't spin down like the power saving greens

Drive has come right now I have moved stuff around in the case. With the fan being at full tit it was causing some vibration. Would still like to replace it, it is my last remaining green as an OS drive and they are SO BAD its not funny.

Green is only good for data storage only.

You should. I wouldn't be using any sort of greens for anything but storage
