Hi there guys, i was googling alot, and youtubing and found a lot of people saying, change voltage and add motherboard stuff, fsb blah blah.
I have started to understand all of the terms etc, but i only have a stock cooler on my AMD 955 BE Quad core, so i did a bit more searching and thought, stuff it, lets give it a go.
i have read many of times, 3.6 on stock cooling is a stable clock so i only did a little stress test for now, but of course ill make sure and do a whole day test (as temps during the day change)
other things i learnt, keep temp under 60 degrees and voltage under 1.5v
so, i dove into the bios, HAD NO CLUE what i was doing.
and set multiplier to 18x (18 times)
booted into windows fine, and got 55-57 degrees during a stress test. please note i had stock cooler, 4 fans (not many) and a room the size of most people cupboards/pantry. (computer and bed and no more)
so yea, for anyone with this processor, or even 965 black, i suggest this slight overclock if you want a speed boost. any questions please ask, im not an expert though. hopefully this will save someone some loong googling in the future
