do you guys know if sata 3 is standard on new laptops or do you need to buy high end special laptops to take advantage of this beast at present?

Depends on the laptop, but in theory the new sandybridge laptops will be 6gbit/'s SATA

Yes, SATA problem is fixed. Look for 'B3' boards.

I just paid NZ$370 inc Fedex Express shipping for a 115GB SSD from OWC. It works well, not quite as fast as the Vertex 3 but still pretty quick compared with a spinning disk. Boot time is negligable, and the Win 7 PC's usable about 5 seconds after I log in.

I've never even heard of the guys? Are their products any good?
