Can anyone think of a scenario where these actions can be taken in VMware thanks.

1-Interview the user and back up data.
2-Ask the user to reproduce the problem while you watch.
3-Use Task Manager to end a process that is not responding.
4-Try a reboot
5-Suspect a virus
6-Allow Windows to provide a solution
7-Windows update might solve the problem
8-Download updates or patches for the application
9-Use the application setup to repair the installation
10-Consider data corruption
11-Try restoring default settings
12-Uninstall and reinstall the application
13-Use System Restore

Maybe Im missing something here, but all those actions are doable in a Windows VM. Its just a virtual machine, not a different Windows OS.

Also when referring to "VMWare", you might want to be a bit more specific - Workstation,Player, ESX, View etc.

Maybe if we start telling people the brain is an app they will start using it.

This signature proudly stripped of anything interesting by a lack of imagination.
