I have a client with a XEROX printer/scanner/fax machine. All is operating well except the scan to email function. My client has an XTRA broadband connection and uses Google Apps - both of which require SSL for their SMTP servers for email. The XEROX scanner does not support SMTP over SSL.

What other SMTP servers can I use which do not require a SSL connection?

Paid? www.smtp.com, www.dyndns.com and others offer smtp services.

And moved this to correct forum, seeing this is not a Telecom NZ problem.

Thanks but Gmail also uses SSL. We are looking for a free solution first of all.

Does this client have any servers at their premises? Not to difficult to install a smtp service on a existing linux or windows server and configure it with one account just for the xerox to use.

My client doesn't run a server ... yet. I'm trying to avoid that at the moment as their money is tight. I'll look at scan to a network folder I think.

smtp.xtra.co.nz?

That isn't SSL and uses port 25.
