Does anyone have any recommendations for a single slot video card for speeding up a desktop a little, video and some light gaming? Being able to convert video on it would be a plus.
I thought I could get away with the integrated graphics, but it is not that easy. The 630a/7025 on the motherboard is worse than my old x1300 in the laptop despite what windows rating it has!
It doesnt have to play new games at massive framerates, really want the orange box to be playable with the options up and similar older games.
Thinking of a 5670 at the moment.
Are there any problems running nvidia chipsets with ati graphics cards?

You shouldn't have any problems.
The HD5670 sounds like a good fit, just make sure you get one with GDDR5 memory.
