I have an old PC here that is running Win98, soon to be either Linux or XP. The problem I have is that in the PC I have two Optical drives. One being a DVD drive and the other a CD Writer.  The drives in Device Manager show up as garbled characters for their names, and if I insert a disc into either, they are shown as Audio CD's, which they aren't.  What could be the problem?  The drives were reading discs as data CD's up until now.
