It only says AM2 socket CPUs, but I found that AM2/AM2+/AM3 are pretty much same, only difference is the memory controller. So a AM3 CPU would not benefit faster memory channel etc. on a AM2 motherboard.

And I found quite a few computer shops having CPUs like"AMD PHENOM II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition CPU, 3.2GHz (125W), 8MB Cache, Sockets AM3/AM2+/AM2*". Does that mean I can definitely use this CPU on my M2N4-SLI motherboard, but won't be able to use some AM3 features?
