I have transfered my Office 2003 Outlook data to another computer and I want to download new email from the XTRA email server but not have to purge my webmail. Is it possible to stop Office Outlook 2003 from downloading all the email on the server but only download new email?

In Advanced settings, you will find one that says Retain Messages At Server, or similar. That will allow POP to download emails from the mail server(webmail), and they will also stay at webmail. I dont have Outlook here, but check

http://products.secureserver.net/email/email_outlook.htm

The setting is on Point 9

I don't know if Xtra does IMAP or not. I don't believe in using ISP email addresses, it means you can't easily change ISPs. Gmail works well, and supports IMAP.

You can set it to use POP and still leave messages on the server inside the client itself.

On my little emulator here it is under:

Tools ->
Email Accounts ->
View or Change existing e-mail accounts -> Next ->
Select account and press Change ->
Click more settings ->
Click Advanced Tab ->
Select "Leave a copy of messages on the server"

You also have the option to have the client remove the emails from the server when you move to the deleted items folder on the client (in outlook)
And the option to have it purge webmail messages after a time period (I.e after 10 days)

Hope this helps
