Ive got a friend who spent a large amount on a gaming comp, now he has had multiple problems with this computer, an apparent power surge, 2 crashed video cards (EVGA 570's) problems with it going to sleep and not coming out of sleep, occasionally wont power on? now this computer is under 3 months old, i think he should get a refund because as you can imagine he is over it! i would be 2, i just want to know what others think about this?

Not necessarily a refund, its not the shops fault there was a power surge. Take it back to the shop and get them to check it out and replace any faulty parts etc.

Also advise your friend to buy a surge protector / decent UPS to avoid such issues in the future :)

Sounds like either the mobo or PSU are at fault.
Which store was it ?
