+1. Thanks.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

There's a couple of gotchas with this offer:

The readme says you will have to pay to keep it uptodate:
Please note that the software you download and install during
the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
1) No free technical support
2) No free upgrades to future versions
3) Strictly non-commercial usage

The license agreement says that it is a trial:
Special Note
The KINGSOFT OFFICE PROFESSIONAL 2012 EDITION [“Product”] under this Agreement is a charged product. But before you pay the license fee for the “Product”, there is a one-off 30-day free of charge trial period (from the initial date when you install the “Product” on the unique computer of which you have the ownership, hereinafter referred to as the “Trial Period”) for each unique computer ID. Once the Trial Period expires, if you want to continue to use the “Product’, the precondition is that you must agree and accept all articles of the END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT OF KINGSOFT OFFICE PROFESSIONAL 2012 EDITION [“EULA”] and pay the license fee according to the price policy stipulated and announced by Kingsoft in its absolute discretion subject to adjustment from time to time. The license term of the “Product” under the EULA shall be subject to the license fee you’ve paid for the “Product”.

Maybe thats the standard blurb when its a trial and you have to pay to use it after 30 days, like lots of software. In the Help About section, it says it is definitely licensed to me.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but another excellent office alternative for Windows and Linux is Softmaker Office http://www.softmaker.com, for which a free earlier version exists at http://www.softmakeroffice.com. The freebie is the Office 2003 look and feel, but for a free product it's excellent.

There is an Android version under development.

I'm not talking about who it is the suite says it is licensed to. I'm talking about the license you had to agree to before the install program will install the suite.

It is probable that they were just too busy to update the license for the giveaway but the only way to know for sure will be to see what happens in 30 days.
