I'm not sure if this is the same as this post so have made this its own.

My Dad has come back from living overseas for many years and brought with him his fairly nice machine but has an odd problem whereby the PSU fan will continue to spin even after the machine has been turned off. I don't mean it continues for a few minutes, it continues forever. All other case fans/hdd's spin down and stop.

I've looked through the BIOS for any power options that might help, and have toggled them all on/off individually to no effect.

The Mobo is an Asus P6X58D-E and the PSU is a Corsair TX750W.

I'm suspecting that the PSU has a faulty temperature gauge so has the fan always going to cool it down but would love to know if there is something i'm overlooking.

Anyone had a similar problem before?

5 year warranty on that model I think and Corsair has great tech support you'll get a reply to a RMA request within 24 hrs.

They will even do advanced replacement if you're willing to give them credit card details (for verification).

Edit: Saw your thread on ocnz which turned up this link

I wonder if the local Corsair agent will honour the guarantee on a power supply bought from outside NZ?

Worldwide warranty they will get him to send it back to the nearest depot for evaluation (probably asia).

If he doesn't want any downtime go for their forward replacement option.

Thanks for that fellas. I'll let him know the options. I am going to assume he'll be lazy and just hold onto it but you never know.

I have a corsair PSU in my machine back home and am happy to know they are proactive in their RMA's.
