Hi All,

I had to power-cycle my modem this morning, so did a power-cycle of my router at the same time.

I am using a Linksys DDWRT54GS
      Firmware Version: DD-WRT v24-sp1 (07/27/08) mega - build 10012

The admin pages indicate Wireless is on.. and it had been fine, but about 15 minutes ago my iphone lost connectivity.   Rebooted phone, no change.  I fired up the laptop which connects over wifi and this shows no sign of my wireless either.   WLAN light on router is lit.    I turned off wireless and back on, but still no change.  Tried another power-cycle.. WLAN light is lit, no SSID seen by either device.

Any ideas?  Has my routers wireless finally given up?   Power has always been set at, and remains at, the default 70mw.

Thanks.

You've possibly cooked it. Seems to be a common issue with many of those Linksys devices these days, wireless on my 54GL died about 3 months ago.

Yeah figured.. I've had it since around 2001/2002 so it's had a good life.

Now to find a good (affordable) replacement with gigabit speeds! Recommendations?

It will eventually be in a cupboard so needs good wifi signal

I use a Mikrotik RB751 as my home router now. Great performance but non Gigabit, there is however a slight learning curve to configuration.

Those are Linksys E4200, not NETGEAR.

The Linksys is fast, but in my tests here at home they seem to slow down when many connections are open - and won't recover speeds until a power cycle. Perhaps low buffers, or crap buffer management... Who knows?

I tested the NETGEAR WNDRMACv2 though and that one had no problem.
