Hey to all

I am currently having a problem with IE, every time i open it from task bar, opens up and then notepad will open and will download the webpage in some kind of script format and then close. I have done a reinstall on IE and a full virus etc scan and system is clean.

Anyone have any similar problems or can offer any advise?

The homepage is set to msn.com

and this is the short of what the download on notepad looks like

#footer_logo{float:left}
#footer_logo .odd .image img{margin-top:7px;margin-left:14px;margin-bottom:10px}
#bottom_banner{float:left;text-align:center;padding-bottom:10px}
#bottom_banner div{margin:0 auto}

as IE is set to my default any link someone gives me in Skype etc does the same thing

and so on

Thanks!!

Same with Chrome.

The local redirect from http://www.msn.com is busted today.

http://www.msn.co.nz is working only a little better.

Maybe it is some kind of MSN CDN problem.

Change your homepage until they sort it out.

Must be something local. Works fine through a U.S proxy. Could also be ISP specific.

I'm with xnet, how about you?

Msn is a common homepage, that must be causing a lot of problems.

That is a long time to have problems for a major site, wonder what is going on?

Guess it could be continuing Anonymous or Lulzsec activity but that is just pure speculation on my part. (MSN is 50% owned by ComCast)

I can confirm on TelstraClear as well. Visiting www.msn.com should redirect to www.msn.co.nz, instead it goes to http://iat.msn.co.nz/tickler/default.aspx a page with

#footer_logo{float:left}
#footer_logo .odd .image img{margin-top:7px;margin-left:14px;margin-bottom:10px}

and so on...

Obviously their redirect is fubar.

I get this "This document had no style information" in Opera 12 OOPP (x64) so it's not just IE or your ISP there's certainly a problem with the msn.co.nz page

Orcon is my ISP by the way

Yeh i am with Telstra Clear also.

Just tried MSN.com and msn.co.nz with firefox, works fine superbowl lead story. MSN.com opened on IE get nothing.

Is it possible to have a website work on one Internet browser and not another?

I have a friend who runs a website and has alot of trouble getting it to work on IE yet chrome firefox works perfect.

Yeah it's possible for different reasons.

With http://www.msn.co.nz:

I get a better result from Firefox (v10) after dismissing the website region prompt.

Chrome and IE give more or less the same result you identified originally.

This seems to be fixed for me now (Chrome, TelstraClear)... msn.com correctly redirects to msn.co.nz and then shows a dialog asking if you want the NZ or US site.

Using a tomizone hotspot in central auckland, http://www.msn.com still bad on Chrome. Amazing it has lasted this long. Love to know the story, but not much chance of that I reckon.
