My subscription to ESET NOD32 is almost up again for renewal on my home comp and was thinking of saving money and using MSE instead.

Is MSE up to the task or could I regret being a cheap ho?

Any advice appreciated.

MSE is just as good. Best of all, it's free like you mentioned.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I haven't had any problems with MSE myself and wouldn't have any doubts about recommending it to others.

You will be happy with MSE. I am running a (courtesy) ESET NOD32 and it seems quite light. I also have no problems with Norton Internet Security.

MSE is IMO the best of the free ones. Avast and AVG have got a bit bloated.
NOD32 is still a very good product though, and for $50 a year is good peace of mind.
