Recently I did a GPU change from a 6950 ATI to a ATI 6970. When i tried booting up my pc nothing happens. The green LED light on the motherboard comes on which tells me there is power to the mobo.

I checked the 20pin or so power cable that goes to the mobo and it works. The rest of the cables and fans are all connected in properly but nothing powers up. It was working fine yesterday but when i took out my GPU i tried switching it on without a GPU and nothing happened from then on. Put in my new GPU today and still nothing happened. The start and restart pins havent been touched because initially i thought somehow they were disconnected but they are connected fine.

If anyone can help with this it would be great.---

I havent checked on your board but normally there is a couple of pins to short to reset the bios but yeah I found taking rhe battery out does the same thing. Just make sure you have turned power off at the wall

I have tried that with also disconnecting hard drives, dvd drives, and only leaving one ram instead of two. Also took out the GPU and tried turning it on with the bios resetted. Nothing turned on except the led light on the mobo.

Could be a variety of things, but I'd be leaning towards a blown PSU. Do you have another PC (yours or a mates) you can swap the PSU out of and check?
