I have a Telecom Treo 700wx running Windows Mobile 5. Previously I used the Apache with the same OS. I have noticed that when I am in outlook (messaging menu) I can no longer use the send and receive function. I use to be able to while in messaging go to the menu and select send and receive. Now I have to go to  Activesync (to send it) everytime I want to send an email.

Is there a setting I need to tweak to get the send and receive function to work?

Thanks

Hoosein

What kind of mailbox is this (POP3, IMAP, Exchange)?

I have a Treo 700wx here and I see the Send/Receive option in the Inbox and it works fine for all mailbox types. Have you tried a soft reset now? What menu options you can see when you tap Menu?

It doesn't look like it's configured to synchronise to Exchange, but rather synchronise to Microsoft Outlook, hence the greyed out and the option to only synchronise when using ActiveSync.

Connect the Treo 700wx to your PC, open ActiveSync and configure a new server. If your Exchange server requires a SSL certificate you may have to install it. IF needed you can ask for help to your Exchange administrator.

Yes, if you can connect to ActiveSync over BT. If your Exchange is visible from the Internet, you can do this directly on the device - open the ActiveSync application on your Pocket PC, tap Options and Configure Server.

Hi

Tried all this but still the same. I check with another person with the same device and his send/receive is not greyed out. Our IS bot also applied some Telecom firmware upgrade (something they only got recently from Telecom for the Treo) and its still the same after another soft reset. Seems really strange.

What do you see when you open ActiveSync in your Treo and tap Options and Configure Server?

And what's there?

So just to confirm, you *do* have an exchange server?

Mine is working fine just like freitasm's. The option would only generally be greyed out if it was not a valid option, and as inidcated, if you have an OUTLOOK account set up, then a send/recieve is not possible.

Under options I have

Exchange Server and a number of items that can be synch
Windows PC and a number of items that can be synch

Under config a server I have the server address (company's) with username. password and domain.

I do not have any other accounts set up.

Perfect, so you have the company's Exchange server address in place and you have Exchange Server and Windows PC in "Options".

Now you just need to uncheck the E-mail box from Windows PC and check the E-mail box in front of the Exchange Server.

You might see a dialog box saying that data will be deleted on your Pocket PC and downloaded from the Exchange Server. That's normal. After this it should synchronise ok. You can also do the same with Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.

I have doner all this. I can synch with no problems, what I am unable to do is use the send/receive to send and receive mail. I have to start activesynch from the menu . Remember my send/receive is greyed out.

So you have E-mail checked under Exchange Server, not under PC?
