I have a iMate K-Jam on a Vodafone GPRS network and I am having trouble getting it to pick up e-mail remotely. I am running SBS2K3 Premium SP1 and all updates. I have installed two certificates onto my device (publishing. mydomain.local and www.mydomain.co.nz). The publishing cert allows me to synchronise my device on the local LAN. For this I have to have the server set as myservername. The www cert is the cert used when I connect to OWA. This is the side I cannot get to work. In
the instructions from the document "Deploying Windows Mobile 5.0 with Windows Small Business Server 2003", it says to enter your public DNS name and that this is the same as your OWA address (in my case https://www. mydomain.co.nz/exchange). So I input www. mydomain.co.nz. It does not seem to work for me. Am I missing something here? When I try to synchronise I get (server set to www. mydomain.co.nz) "The server could not be reached. This can be caused by temporary network connections". And the support code is 0x800772EE2.
I have also tried mail. mydomain.co.nz, myservername. mydomain.co.nz and mydomain.co.nz. To synchronise via USB I have to have the server set to myservername (the name of the server, obviously). Using the USB cable everything synchronises perfectly providing I use the myservername for the server name.
I am able to connect remotely (from a PC) to https://www.mydomain.co.nz/oma, so this proves that Outlook Mobile Access is correctly configured.
Can anyone help with the configuration of WM5 and the Vodafone connection or know of someone who has this working and would be willing to assist?
