sleepy: Not to panicked but curious as it seems fairly common whats to stop the replacement cracking?

Yeah I see your point, nothing will stop a replacement from cracking however, these have a 12month warranty, also with the new batches been made maybe they have addressed the issue? If not I might keep swapping if the cracking continues, IF this swap is as pain free as the call center rep said it would be

Lol it's been 6hours without it and I miss it, I have grown away from my ipad playing with it now and I'm just disgusted it doesn't have flash :/

Mine is still sitting in it's boxed in a fresh wiped state as the courier decided not to come and get it today. The woman at the repair place assures me I will have a replacement by the weekend though.

On a side note, I wish that there was a version of keepass for these, my important passwords are massively long and painful to type in

Lol when I get my new one (still very skeptical that it will be a refurb) I'll be turning that off first! I want to get me a keyboard as well only place I can find that has them is aquire.co.nz

Mine has been given to my other half as it simply can't compete with my iPad for apps...
Speed is good, bit bulky, but until I can load Android it's still a distant 3rd in my books.

But on the positive side, it only cost 169 bucks.

Auto-correct for me is off because I can't have multiple keyboards (Portuguese and English), so it's a no-go.

And I also need a KeePass app for it with support for Dropbox.

Handy way I found to turn your touchpad into a phone. Sort of.

Support for making calls seems to depend heavily on what phone you tether it to, texting works fine.

Install "FreeTether" from PreWare, then watch the video:

Texts work on mine with my SGS2, calling however does not, would still need to pay for Skype and use that over WiFi, which isn't going to happen. (Unless there's a SIP client so I can use my 2Talk SIP account, haven't looked into that yet)

Edit: Alpha SIP client (service won't start on my TouchPad with the 0.1.8 version)

As anyone found a site / app (that works in NZ) where I could download movies (legally) to my touchpad? I just want to put some children DVDs on for my son.

I've got the HP Movies app (moviestore I think?) but there doesn't seem to be any titles available, which I am guessing is because I am physically in NZ...

Any DRM'd content won't authenticate on the TouchPad unless it's bought via an app on the device, and as you rightfully surmise, there's nothing of any use available to us in NZ.

So unfortunately there's no "legal" way to put commercial movies onto the device, even if you already own them on DVD etc.

It is possible somehow to get Hulu working, it's not exactly trivial though: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad/299955-new-hulu-fix.html#post3165108
(You'll need a US VPN acct too I believe).

Hopefully we are allowed to 'format-shift' video content in the future, to bring it into line with audio. Would be handy to convert the kids DVDs onto this for long car trips

What's the name of the app? I only found KeePassW which is not really a replacement. You need to export your password database as XML, losing all the encryption.
