Yes, you can (see above reply). But why should we?

BrentR: Hi Guys,

It's a staggered release to mitigate large loads and failed downloads in the first few days/weeks, I understand it's frustrating that you have to wait, but I know I'd personally rather it worked on the first try instead of a failed download and potentially bricked handset.

This would be ok in times past, not in the times of CDNs, load balancers. Also update files are checked with a checksum before being applied.

Staggered releases make no sense at all, except for frustation.

at the very least, there should be a way for WP Devs (or Nokia Devs) to be able to force the update, or get it in the first round!

It sucks that it isn't all at the same time.

IT REALLY sucks that there is no indication of when we can expect it - a week, a month, six?

So.. is Vodafone waiting for Nokia or is Nokia waiting for Vodafone?

And yeah - playing it safe is one thing - not saying anything at all is just poor service, which seems to fit with Vodafone's overall lack on interest in Windows Phone as a platform.

As has already been stated in this thread.

The rollout is a staggered release which began on June 27 and will continue over the coming weeks.

hmmmmmm.

The Warehouse had the 710 on special for $350, so I decided to get one and give it a try (normally have Androids) since the update has come out with wifi hotspot... only to find it's not yet available and The Warehouse won't let me return the phone. So now I either have no internet at home for TiVo/tablet/laptop and wait till who knows when for the update to be released or buy another phone and go back to Android. waaaah

What version are you now running?

It should be under Settings > Internet Sharing
