David,

I found something else that may help you. When I looked into the e-mail setup settings under inbox/accounts/accounts/highlight e-mail account/next/next/next/options... I found that the connection selection was a number not "The Internet". The number reads {8831E4CC-C397-4337-B08.. and that's all I can see. It appears that this connection is the bluetooth link or ID that needs to be selected for the connection. It appears to be generated automatically, as I did not input this information, and I know for a fact that if you switch it to "The Internet" it does not work.

Just thought you should know. Good Luck and let me know if you get it working.

Kevin:

I think my problem may be with my phone. From your Ipaq can you tell me if the properties on the Bluetooth connection to the V600 show an address like FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF? This apparently is the hardware address of the V600 bluetooth. Having all Fs makes me think mine is a little funny. Would you mind checking yours and tell me if yours is similar or not?

You find it by going to the bluetooth manager on the Ipaq and selecting properties on one of the shortcuts created when you linked the 2 up. Just hold the stylus down on the shortcut and a menu will appear.

I really apprecitate your help. Motorola won't help me since the phone isn't released in the US yet so other users are my only hope.

Thanks,

David

That must be my problem. Someone else told me that my address looked unusual so I will try to get a replacement phone.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, I have similar problem and AT&T gave up and said they can't help! They are not sure why it wouldn't work. I am so sad. I am returning the phone.. Do you have any suggestion?

Well, not sure how I can help but mine is working fine now. I use Cingular, not AT&T even though they are supposed to be merging at some point, so I'm not sure my settings will help you. I would be happy to give you my Cingular technician's number if you would like to contact him.

Sure, I can call him if he is willing to help a AT&T customer. My device address is also FF:FF:FF.... and according to them I am not suppose to put any user name or password. Here is a link to the instruction:

This is what I did so far. But I can use file tranfer but I am not able to send phone number to the phone or make a dial up connection. It says connection failed..

Hey guys, please send this phone number via private message and edit your post to remove it from public viewing. The poor guy may end up getting phone calls in the middle of the night as soon as someone finds this thread on Google.

Mine originally had all FFs as the address. Got a new phone and then flashed to the same SW version and flex that my old phone had and the new one works like a champ. My first phone must have been some sort of pre-production version and the FFs of the address is likely the give-away.....

Thanks David for your input. But How would you flush firmware. Do you have the USB connection or can you do it with the bluetooth. And which vertion I need to change to and how do I get that? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

I have also had this same problem and have spent hours on the phone with ATT and TMobile. I just checked the Device Address and I also have FF:FF...... as the device address. Is that all that changed from the two phones?

I ended up returning the phone. Called Motorola and said they don't support after it pairs!! But I think it is software issue on the phone. I am using this PDA with a nokia 3650 and works like a charm. Though file transfer don't work. These things never work the way it should and it frustrates me to no end. Why can't they make better product. I am now waiting for the V710 and it sounds like a lot better phone. Hope that one will work with my pda.
