>Click the Explore button on the ActiveSync toolbar you can see the folder structure of the Windows Mobile
I connected the phone to PC, Active Sync runs and Explores to :-
My Windows Mobile-Based Device System Folder My Music File Folder My Pictures File Folder My Ringtones File Folder My Videos File Folder Notes File Folder Templates File Folder UAContents File Folder
They must be phone-created folders, distinct from the micro SD card. Which I managed to format in a new card reader and copy some mp3's to. And these play on the phone via Audio Manager.
But nothing on the micro SD card appear in Active Sync; there no other Folder structures to Explore.
Because HTC tells me the card won't work I'm not sure if this condition is normal (i.e I could Explore to it if it were a Class 2 card) or something else needs doing and it will work.

Classes are not a compatibility specification, only performance. An SD card can not be incompatible with a device because of it's speed class. Sure, if the device only supports Class 2, you may only get class 2 speeds out of any card you put in, regardless of being a higher speed class, but it will work, provided the SD standard (in this case SDHC under SD version 2.0) is supported - which HTC's site says it is. The only exception to the "Speed class doesn't relate to compatiblity" is once you start shifting from Class 2- 10, into UHS classes. UHS cards require a UHS-supporting device (SD Version 3.01+).
Thanks Inphinity, so HTC are feeding me BS when saying its only compatible with a Class 2 card?
I shall tell them that !!
The files didn't transfer as quickly as e.g. a flash drive. This all makes sense now with what you've said - and pretty much proves the 'can't see folder' problem is not class related.
So I'll plod on and find out just what it is.
HTC support is pretty b-awful.... the only other thing I ever asked them was how to keep the backlight lit on the keyboard. Can't be done (they said). Well it can... eventually found it...
