Just received my Lumia 520 today as a work phone - my first Win 8 phone, and a complete newbie. This will be interesting ....
Had a LG GM730 prior, with a weird PDA app, but the phone side of the LG went really orrid - sounded like a Dalek down a tunnel - but only to other mobiles ..
So on my list: Update phone OS - need Wifi, no data plan at the mo ( I think .. ) Sync up my Outlook contacts and calendar; Cover / silicone sleeve Bluetooth headset Rid the junk apps - ahh, already got rid of Facebook app - that was easy ... . And already the screen has greasy finger and thumb streaks across it ...
My wife got one at The Warehouse. It's the best deal: the Sim comes loaded with one month Vodafone prepaid + car charger + cover (on backorder) for $179.
The outside does show fingerprints really easily when viewed at an angle but it does not affect the clarity of the screen at all.
I'd happily swap it for one of mine except there's no chance of her going back to Android given her bad experience with a cheap Android phone. It was the same price as the 520 but nearly 2 years ago.
