Ah, thanks for confirming that, I made both changes at once so I wasn't sure.

Thats the right place for Nokia Maps beta, where did you get the latest Maploader from?

If you have the right version of the Maploader I wonder whether a firewall or such like is preventing it from calling home to refresh map data information?

I had the same problem.

I resolved it by running the newly installed Maps 2.0 Beta, and only then try downloading the new map using Maploader 1.3.5.

Ah, yes, that was so obvious I didn't even think about it. You do of course need to run the maps app once on the phone...

Wow, I am totally impressed!  Downloaded Map Loader 1.3.5 to get the latest maps:)  The Auckland map is extremely detailed!  Wow!!!!

Can anyone tell me whether NZ has voice guided navigation?

Not as far as I can tell - I went through the menu to get it but NZ isn't an area you can select for voice guidance (shame!). That said the map detail is approaching a level where that would be possible, in Auckland at any rate. Still nobody able to tell us about elsewhere?

I downloaded 2.0 beta last night but not sure whether it is the version you are talking about.  It looks highly impressive to me though, over the older version.  Alot sleeker and more functions:)

Nope, that version was only released today and I updated yesterday - will get this one though. Sounds much improved.

Wonder if the new features include the near-realtime traffic updates (and if so whether we'll get them). Maybe NZ is selectable for voice guidance now?

I just loaded it and it looks good. Gave me the option to download a voice, something like 3mb file, so I did. Also let me do a 3 day trial of navigation... so I did that too ... have "simulated" a journey and it worked really well. Her voice is a bit more "natural", and posh sounding, that the one I've used on Vodafone Compass.

Cool - I wonder whether changing the phone date to a date in future before applying the license will extend the free navigation license? Its worked before...

Laughing hahaha What a excellant idea !! Bugger that I didn't think of that.

Takes me back to the old days when I was temping in London and we have to email the boss when we were leaving from working overtime so we'd put our PC clocks forward 4 hours, email him and then go off to the pub. But I digress ...
