Frank_icpe:
thefunkysoulone: Has anybody managed to bring a HTC Touch Diamond Pro in from abroad and get teh 3G running and connected? I just looked at Expansys.co.nz and they are selling the ozzie version and will deliver to NZ.

I suspect it would need to be on Vodafone?

Hi there, firstly you need to decide which model you want, there is the Touch Diamond or the Touch Pro  they are diferent! I recent'y got a HTC Touch Pro from the UK and I have no problem connecting on 3G and also HSDPA High Speed on Vodafone. Mine is Quad Band but I think I read somewhere that the Aussie ones are only tri-band but I could be wrong Smile so it would be good to check.

Here is a link to the Vodafone website that says what frequencies they use: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/roaming/set-up-services-support.jsp#expander1 so make sure yours is compatable,

As for purchasing you could also check out: http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_info.php?products_id=10653 as they are in Auckland.

All the best

Frank

I read a review on a forum that expert infotech are sometimes a real pain to do business with, but they do offer the cheapest touch pro according to pricespy. have rung them & they said it is in stock. Will go up to Auckland to their shop to see it & maybe buy it.

Went to Auckland last month & went to one of the electronics shops off ?victoria st (where there was that reverse bungy thingy), got offered the TP for $1530 incl 2Gb card, thought that was cheap but Einfo are selling for 1369.... not bad...
