Ahh...my bad! I've mis posted ...again...dyslexic day...what I meant to say was

1. ignore what i said above
2. insert an On account sim into your phone
3. Power phone up and check if the network is showing you a GPRS (not gprs) signal
4. Once you get a GPRS signal, try the email again

Out of interest, can you browse to any websites? VF live for example?

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

The Bold its 3G so will not display GPRS unless the end user is in 2G coverage

and they will not be able to browse anything as its not provisioned on the RIM relay

Why are you advising step 4) They are not provisioned on RIM relay

John

Oh I get you now.

Nope, without a BB BIS plan I can only browse internet through WiFi, even though I have a standard data plan through vodafone, of course this has now been made redundant so I may as well cancel it.

Guys, IMHO...
If using WAP, data does not hit the RIM relay (even if it existed)

He's not trying to use any BB apps. So correct APN settings *should* solve the problem.

Just needs to be able to browse to http://m.yahoo.com/mail

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Cant fix the MMS issue unless you're on a BB plan.

For the APN try Options-->Settings-->Adv options-->TCP
APN = www.vodafone.net.nz

you should now be able to browse to yahoo using opera mini and access your yahoo email.

dang, Google is GOD, key in 'blackberry without BIS/BES' and you will find your answer on top list, I for one would only go down the BIS way, but you can, and it is not rocket science to figure out.

Thanks zocster, I doubt I'll even get close to 100mb but it never hurts to over indulge. I've just signed up to facebook and downloaded the BB app.
