I got Imate Jasjam. and I can tell you, Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1 is not native to the device. It comes and certified for Windows Mobile 5.0 despite what everyone else have tried using a cooked (and often unsafe and untested) ROM.

Sorry man, you had been given the advice, either ask for refund, or have someone to reflash the ROM back to its intended version.

Good luck.

You are talking about a hard reset, but that will just take you back to whatever ROM is loaded on, bugs and all, and wipe out your settings, data, contacts, messages etc.

Here is some advice - you NEED to do one of these things:

  1. Throw it away

  2. Sell it as faulty/requires flashing on Trademe

  3. Get it sent away for repair

  4. Find someone to flash original ROM back on for you

Thats about it.

You bought a phone that you knew had issues, got it dirt cheap, and now you seem utterly surprised you cant get it going.

If you bought a $10,000 car for $2k, and the seller said "I worked on it, and now it doesn't go", would you be surprised when it didnt go?

I think people are surprised that if you have such a limited budget, and need a good working device, that you bought a phone that you knew had problems.

Now you have eighty less dollars, and still no working phone for your effort.

A "cheap PPC" means a non-working PPC.

Follow Tony's suggestions...
