Perform a soft reset on your Pocket PC - and make sure the Windows XP SP2 firewall is not enabled or at least not blocking ActiveSync or Bluetooth.

The soft reset did not have the desired effect. The computer I'm running on is still on XP SP1. In the meanwhile Ialso have now tried the bluetooth adapter on another machine with XP SP2. After following the procedure to ensure that I use the Belkin drivers rather than the Microsoft drivers on the XP SP2 I have exactly the same problem on this machine as I have described before.

"The main problem connecting via Bluetooth was the number of services provided by your BT dongle. Reduce the number of services up to 7. Set your BT serial port to COM4 and in ActiveSync set the communication port to COM4. Start ActiveSync from BT tray on your iPaq. It should work.

I'm avidly following this, because I've got exactly the same issues as you, ml_newbie!

In my Local Services tab, I've got 9 entries, but how do I remove them?

I might be getting somewhere with this!

I followed the guidance here, and have now got to the stage where my PC is prompting me to set up a partnership with my iPaq. Unfortunately I can't sync my addresses, etc, because it appears that my iPaq '...is set to synchronise information with a server. If you select to synchronise to this computer only, you will not be able to modify server sync settings until you have completed a sync with the desktop.'

How do I set up my iPaq not to sync with a server?

It shouldn't be synchronising with a server unless you entered a server configuration before. Is this a new Pocket PC?

Anyway, to remove this, simply open ActiveSync on your Pocket PC, tap Tools and then change to Server. Remove the server name from the corresponding field.

Please open another thread to discuss this problem if it persists!
