To be honest i dont even know where to find it or anything. ive never had to deal with it before... what would the file be called or where would i find it?

managed to make one from the internet explorer off our remote web workspace but still didnt work (after i installed it on my phone i mean) still no luck

just to add to this I have installed SBS 2011 and got my HTC Trophy up and going with a self signed cert. I simply got the certs from my server, copied them to my public folder on my dropbox, emailed myself the link to the public link to the files (to a gmail account) then clicked on the link in gmail, chose to install the cert and finally setup the Exchange account as per normal. All worked first time and took about 3 mins :-)
