I have done what was suggested, i.e. uninstall bluetooth stack & nokia datasuite. Rebooting between each and then reinstalling both, booting between each. I am still getting the exact same error, i.e. Bluetooth stack doesnt seem to hold the connection between both devices, comes up with an error and when i click ok, it resets the software and kills some services that the nokia datasuite uses. I have tried this on my laptop and my desktop, same problem happening on both...
Any ideas, this is really beginning to annoy me, had similiar problems with bluetooth and my 5450 Ipaq.....Gave up in the end...
Hi, I went out and bought a new TDK PCMCIA Bluetooth Card to see if this would make any difference. I have installed this and it created a Bluetooth Serial Port, this all worked okay the 1st time. I rebooted the laptop and since then I haven't been able to get it to work. I get the Serial Port Connection Failed, but when i hit the back button it is not connected. I think the problem I was getting before where it was closing the software was down to the version being used. Now what happens is the software stays open but the phone isnt connected. I can use other bluetooth services like dial up networking with no problems.....
Any help would be appreciated as I am getting frustrated.
I can choose to connect using networking etc, but as soon as I try to make a serial connection, the phone does not respond.
Had it working once, but made my modem play up (all com ports were selected), after I changed that, I could not use data suite again and no connection coul be made through serial port.
Really starting to pee me off as the phone will only start to shine when it got computer connectivity.
Topman, you've uncheck all COM ports in the mRouter, right? Have you selected the one that is configured as Local Service again?
Also, if you have created a shortcut and it is no longer working, find the icon corresponding to your phone, double-click it so the computer can find the services, then connect to the phone using the serial icon in this list. Then you can create a new shortcut again.
The phone should wake up, disconnect, and connect back into your service COM.
FYI, it must be a problem with Symbian OS. Sometimes takes two or three attempts to make my Sony Ericsson P800 call back the computer. On the other hand, my Pocket PC connects first time every time (the connection is initiated from the handheld).
It escapes my understanding why the Symbian devices do not have an icon "Initiate connection now" on the mobile device itself.
