SPB Pocket Plus and SPB Backup are both essential and Resco Explorer 2005 is an improvement on the standard file explorer.

freitasm: Nothing much to configure... Once you have your Access Point installed and working ok, simply tap in the connection icon on your Apache

It will open the Conn Manager:

Tap the WiFi button (the green one in my screenshot). This will turn Wi-Fi on and off. When if finds your access point (assuming it's broadcasting its SSID) it will show you a popup asking if you want to connect, if it's Internet or Work (choose Internet) and a WEP key if needed. It will then try to connect. That's all.

To confirm it's actually connected, tap Settings | Wi-Fi and you will see something like this:

Good luck.

Hi freitasm

Thanks for the info above, I had some issues with my D-Link wireless router, and only going into the D-Link website found that I had to go to http://10.1.1.1 and set up the router for wireless access point. any way my screens look like yours now (with my network name) but when I got to IE it comes up with the following issue?

cheers

Jace

You should download VxUtil and check the connection information. It could be that your Apache is not being correctly configured by the router, and you will find out about this by looking the information provided by VxUtil.

Before that, open File Explorer on your Pocket PC, browse to \Windows and tap on welcome.exe to execute it. Follow the instructions, and after finished make sure to terminate Internet Explorer and start it again.

Have you done the welcome.exe yet?

On VxUtil simply execute it and click Menu | Info to check your configuration. And use PING to ping a site and see if DNS is working.

Hi ReaperZ

I would also like to know how to control my PC via my Apache, currently just connecting my Apache to broadband via wireless router (thanks Mauricio for the help) actually writing this post with my Apache as my wife is on the PC looking at Martha Stewart's website.

I hope to be getting a D-Link PCI card next month... I have transferred data via bluetooth but never with wifi... will keep watching for any response cheers all...

You can use Remote Desktop (free) or LogMeIn (also free). LogMeIn works through firewalls, while Remote Desktop will require some setup on your network.
