Ther is also a software updater on the handset

Menu > Applications > Tools > Phone Setup > SW Update.

You can choose to connect via wifi or cellular.

That's a relief, I had interpretted that update as updates to the installed software only and not a firmware delivery mechanism, this is good news, I won't perform a hard reset, I'll simply wait for the firmware update to come directly to the device

A feature I'd like to see is for bookmarks to store the website icon, and use that on the front screen, at the moment all bookmarks get the same icon, making them indistinguishable.

Can anyone out there with "Mail for Exchange" tell me what the "Messaging" sync does, I'd like to process SMS via OVI but not attempt a eMail sync at the same time (this is not recommended by Nokia)?

OVI has an unexpected interpretation of "Photos", and when Sync is selected, Video content is selected too. I previously tried to sync 1 photo and could not understand why it was still attempting to sync 20 mintues later, I had assumed it had crashed. This time I left it for an hour or so and it finished, once it was finished I could then see that Videos had been brought accross.

ps. 28GB of music has put it to sleep, I'll give it a couple of hours.

Perfect, thanks! What about the contacts? Will that try and Sync teh Exchange contacts or just the SIM contacts?

1. change the preferred location on the phone?
2. try to move existing content to the new location, or only apply this to new content?

If you're using Exchange DON'T use Ovi for PIM data, just media, SMS, MMS, Map Data, Apps.

The preferred location only relates to interactions between Ovi Suite and your device, it won't alter what your device does when it's not connected to Ovi Suite. It will only relate to actions performed once you've made those preferred selections in Ovi Suite (no it won't move items already on your device)

Seems to be a bit hit and miss for this - some of my bookmarks have saved the icon, other have not.

Hi Brent, just read an article published last week, relating to Nokia Sweden's Facebook page, where they say updates will not arrive till February or even Spring (March in Northern Hemisphere). Do you guys at Nokia NZ have any information on this?
