I've got the connection working using JoikuSpot, but I'll need to continue to resolve the connection issues becuase the problem I face is that JoikuSpot does not port forward so I need a direct connection. This is what I have currently, running on my Win7 desktop under VMWare.

This is pretty ambitious, and is probably best in its own thread. I've never needed to do anything like it.

I know that the Ovi Suite installs a seperate package called 'Nokia Connectivity Drivers'. Possibly that's available in a seperate installer?

I'm hoping Telecom are waiting for a firmware update before distributing it to their customers.

Has anyone been able to pair a N8 with a Navman?

If yoy look at the list of installed programmes in the "Add/Remove Programmes" page you see the connectivity drivers listed there separately.  When you uninstal OVI they remain installed.

I think these are the same drivers that are installed when PC Suite is installed.

As a thought have you tried using PC suite instead of Ovi suite?

Why wait until Telecom has it? It's quad band 3g and has the 850 3g band. Buy it from anywhere and you're good to go.

As was kindly pointed out to me, the N8 is Penta band.  Smile

Thanks, but these do now work with Windows Server O/S (2003 or 2008 R2) so I'll make do with the Joiku Bridged Connection for now.

At least with Telecom you'll be able to get the black one. Probably best to contact your Mobile Ranger, they should be able to provide more detail.

Anyone know the direct dial number to the Nokia Care Centre in Auckland??  I've got my N8 in there for repairs, for the 3rd time, and this time I decided not to drive in rush hour traffic again from the Shore to Newmarket and back.  Instead I couriered it last night and checked the courier ticket online to see that it had been delivered this morning (which was confirmed as someone had signed for it).

Of course this time without physically going in there I have no job number to check the status online, and I've received no phone call, text, or email at all.  They're useless at replying to emails as well, I've had no response.

The 0800 number goes to some guy in Timbuktoo and they have no idea what the 09 number is, they only have the Auckland email......

If someone knows I'd appreciate any help, cheers!

There isn't a customer number for the Care Centres, however in my experience they're very good at replying to email. Have you received any emails back from them at all?

It's not a good idea to send them a device without loggin the job with them first, as there is information to fill out and a document to sign. However if you have sent your contact number or email with it then they will contact you.
