No overheating issues as various people have claimed on the net? I tend to trust people on this site much more than some of the crazy Americans on the likes of OmniaHDusers.

No overheating problems here, but then I've not used it for protracted periods on WiFi yet. I wouldn't expect it to get hotter than any other phone I've owned, the Xperia/N-Series phones also get quite hot on WiFi.

After a few hours playback it is warm - mind you its hard to tell if that is from sitting on my leg/hand or not so it is negligible if it is getting warm.

Apparently the new firmware has arrived for the phone, currently on Italian product code only.

Some youtube demos of the sound are very impressive, still awaiting to hear what new software Samsung has put on here (hoping for the Video Editor and Kroll at the very least).

Looks good! AAC 16,000hz, 256kbps audio now on the video, thats a decent sampling and bit rate.

Improved battery life and speed improvements too, they are already excellent so I'm pretty impressed they can squeeze some more out.

Likewise, very impressed since it was already the fastest phone I've owned by a clear margin (and much faster than my trial N97).

Apparently the browser speed and scrolling is much improved (although still not kinetic).

Still awaiting reports on what software is added.

But better than than the iPhones screen, on account of being AMOLED, larger, and having a higher resolution...

Great!

For me I've noticed these things in the new firmware:

- much improved browser performance
- seems like a slight speed increase everywhere (was already very fast)
- 16kH 256kbps AAC encoded sound on video (sounds very good now) along with improved FPS
- camera now remembers user settings between sessions (like blink recognition on etc)
- few new widgets, the WiFi one being very welcome for me
- improved keyboard response times
- two new games (brain challenge and Texas Holdem poker)
- the download app (my V7 Polish firmware was missing this...)
- fixed the bug that wouldn't let me assign my own email alert tone (now I have Futurama's Bender declaring "I have mail", small thing, it makes me very happy with Roadsync true push HTML email...)
- they claim other stability fixes, but I can't see where, it was already the most stable early-release S60 phone I've ever owned...

EDIT: Oh yes, HelloOX still works too

is the acc fix noticeable? from the other forums I and possibly you frequent, the uploaded videos with the difference appears to be very little.
