chiefie: I thought you need to jailbreak to get it??? All other example said you either have developer unlock or chevron unlock?

Read the first page again. There is a post explaining the procedure. No need to do anything except turn flight mode on , plug phone, start Zune, check for updates, unplug network.

Finally got NoDo.. the step 8/10 is longest and thought it hung.. so took battery out and plug it back in...

it displayed a "do not unplug" screen - which I thought I have bricked it - but then I left it hanging for a while and saw the progress bar moving slowly... It was a bad user interface as nothing was showing it's progressing at the initial stage...

step 8 took ages for me as well, probably over an hour. I could see the progress bar creeping up though so just left it. It gets there eventually.

The Zune desktop will create a full backup of your smartphone's content. In my case it was pretty quick because I don't have stuff there - only the apps themselves.

Yeah! Worked for me first time after no success with earlier methods.

HTC 7 Mozart (Australian Telstra model working on New Zealand's Telecom XT network)
Chevron Unlocked, registry patched to prevent re-locking and patched to spoof carrier de-brand, and ta-taa! - still unlocked post nodo :) Had earlier upgraded it to 32GB with SanDisk class 4 microSD card - so nodo upgrade process took 1 hour 25 mins with 18GB of Music, Video and Photos.
