When products are shipped to the eligible countries using eligible ship options included in the Amazon Global Program, an Import Fees Deposit will be estimated and collected for the shipment. With your authorization, such funds will be used by the carrier or another agent to pay the Import Fees on behalf of you (or the recipient's behalf) to the appropriate authorities of the destination country (See detail below).
There is something wrong with those fees - I'm getting mine shipped to a USA address for USD 9.50 and then let BuyUSA handle the rest. Even adding the $10 annual fee to the costs to ship the order, I'm not expecting that much.

I'd have to agree. I wouldn't go after it at anything more than $200. But it's peoples choice what they do with their money.

I know, especially as there are unlikely to be any apps developed for it. I guess most people are hoping to hack it and run android or something on it. I would prefer to pay a bit more and buy an ipad which appears to be faster , thinner etc. the touch pad looks to be a bit of a brick IMOH. These things are likely to get cheaper anyway so no great loss.

If I NEEDED a tablet i'd have a look at some of the higher spec androids out at the moment. But the truth is I don't, only considered buying a tablet today for the price. My touch screen phone and laptop are enough for the time being, would've been an impulse buy if I had got one today.
But still, congrats to the people who managed to get one at such a great price.

My wife has an ipad and finds it great, and I use it from time to time, but it isn't something I need. But it is definitely handy when out and about, and if traveling it is easier to travcel with than a laptop. But if they had lots of touchpads in the store for $170, I would be tempted to buy one at that price, but I think it would be a step down from an ipad, as it appears to be far more bulkly, slower and not as polished. It is probably what an ipad would have been 2-3 years ago, if apple had released them back then.
