freitasm: If you folks haven't noticed, the Windows Phone keyboard is very accurate and way easier to use than other touchscreen keyboards.

This blog post "The secrets of Windows Phone 8 keyboard" explains why. Worth reading it...

Only problem is you only get the choice of US or UK keyboards, so you're stuck with the pound sign being default, .co.uk in IE etc, when using UK or the preferable .com and $ sign but American spelling when using US :|

I know you can hold the key down or swap between keyboards but its tedious none the less.

WTB NZ keyboard.

Looks like the 8X has received an OTA OS update http://www.wpcentral.com/first-ota-update-windows-phone-8-os-now-live-htc-8x

Wonder if/when the 920 will get it.

Looks like the following updates have been made:

  • SMS Drafts
  • Select all (for mass deletion)
  • SMS Call reject
  • Wifi always on
  • SMS timezone fix (thanks Nathan)

The 8X is the "Windows Phone 8X by HTC" so perhaps the HTCs get priority updates or work in-house with Microsoft as opposed to updates being given to manufacturers?

HTC is just another OEM, like Nokia is.

On this note, the last screenshot says "For information... see 'Windows Phone 8 update history' on windowsphone.com" which doesn't exist.

This page on Wikipedia has the updates listed.

And this page at Windows Phone has the Feature and service availability across various countries.

There are still plenty of features missing in NZ.

Workmate just got the Lumia 820 and has asked me to connect it to his new Vaio hybrid.
I've downloaded the Windows Phone metro app which I believe replaces Zune, but it's saying "Your phone Windows Phone isn't playing nicley with your PC. Try restarting... etc" All apps are up to date on both devices.

Does anyone have this working?
