Can anyone confirm that:

Lumia 710 - Telecom - 1600.3036.8853.12440

is the 7.8 update for the 710?

Jon

BTW, there's a dude over at www.wpcentral.com/forcing-windows-phone-78-update-camera-button-not-required-patience who got his Telecom Lumia 800 to update using the "disconnected network trick".

nathan: All the WP7 devices sold in NZ should receive the 7.8 update, including the HTC Trophy and LG optimus 7 q.

I hope so because at the moment the HTC Trophy here is sitting at 7.10.8107.79 and the LG 7 is 7.10.8773.98.

From Blueshit's post, since 7.10.8107.79 there were 8112, 8773, 8779, 8783 and 8858. This show that Microsoft did not stay true to their word that updates would be delivered to customers at least every second version.

Bakedfresh: Hmmm my Voda Trophy updated to 8773 which according to Wiki is 7.5 Tango... Any trophy users get all the way to 8558?

So far my Trophy has run through
7.10.8112.7
7.10.8773.98
7.10.8779.8
7.10.8783.12
and is now doing
7.10.8858.136 - which looks from the desciption like it is 7.8 - tile sizes etc.

Have you never run an update on this device? Microsoft promised that users would never miss a second update, which would always come with the previous one, even if the telco decided to hold the previous one off...

I check for updates regularly, the last time about a week or so ago (after reading this thread...). It reported no updates available.

I know not everyone gets it today. I know because this is how Microsoft has been delivering Windows Phone updates for the last two and half years. It's just... disappointing.

Yeah it is disappointing, but Windows Phone 8 has a better update delivery system right?

Update ready here now on Nokia Lumia 800. Sadly due to ADSL being down here can't try it out.
