bigreddog: What apps are you trying to find?

I've got all the apps I need and many more I don't need but have anyway on my Lumia920. Can't think of anything I'm missing?
only one I miss is not able to print direct to my canon printer.  Canon said they are not going to support Windows Phone 8 with eprint.  So when time comes will replace my canon with a Brother.
Have tried Linux and other systems and prefer Windows so decided to have Windows Phone.  I will stay with Windows Phone regardless now

Kookoo:

I miss plenty of apps, and it's only been a few days:
  • a customised keyboard
  • a SAMBA client
  • a decent FTP client
  • a DLNA client / media player
  • a mail client that would allow me to automatically download graphics in my emails without asking permission every time
  • Dolphin and Firefox
  • VLC
  • Photo gallery
  • NavFree - HERE Drive is good, but its UI is driving me insane

There's a DLNA app Nokia does called PlayTo
VLC IS on Windows Phone store
NavFree definitely not as good as HERE Drive, I think you just need to learn to use it

On a related note, we're getting new phones at work and for some reason all the 920's have been taken off 2 Degrees and Telecom's site. Are they still selling them? What's the story?

I get the impression NZ Lumias arrive once in one crate and then that's the end for that model.
There's just nothing available and I doubt anyone ever buys one without specifically wanting it in advance and then going out of their way to get it.

There's a chance that a box of 925's is on its way.

PlayTo as I understand it is a DLNA server that allows you to stream content to DLNA players on the network. I need a DLNA player to play content from my server on my mobile. I've found a couple, but they are both terrible. Google Play has probably hundreds of them to choose from.

VLC on WP store? URL please. So far I've only seen VLC remotes which allow you to control your VLC on HTPC from your mobile. These are not actual players as far as I am aware.

HERE Drive, like I said, is good in terms of accuracy and pathfinding algorithm. But it has a terrible GUI that is a pain to use, and a very strange colour scheme which I have no idea how to change.

I found one that I tried then bought it. Has been flawless for me. 4U2stream is the name.  Works well on my Nokia
