Johnk: Got two random questions to fire away myself.
can you select what folders or photos are used for the live tile of photos?
Also I haven't looked into windows 8 too much, just had a play with the old lady's. But does windows 8 support USB OTG?
I'm getting tired of Android and think my next phone will be a windows 8 phone. Slowly starting to read these threads and do some research.

Thanks Nathan and lueyyou. One more question, regarding auto upload of photos to skydrive. phone says "may use data plan" when auto upload is ticked, does this mean it will upload as soon as photo is taken, weather on wifi or 3G? is there anyway that you can select wifi only?

As of a week ago you can set different upload options for both video and photos. The compressed option will upload over data, whilst the full quality option waits for WiFi. Works well.

Hi Nathan...thanks for the tip. It certainly let me load it in, but I still don't have the option of the Outlook.co.nz address being shown as the return address for any emails I have sent.

I would just prefer to use this (Outlook) rather than the Live.com address (which I thought initially was purely a MS Account sign in name - my poor reading skills late at night)

freitasm: There's nothing "hard to use" about it. Some people are just... not used to change.

Probably some merit in that, however I sometimes take a look at them to see how they work (and to see if its worth using oe for development), but from a business point of view the iphone is still in my mind much more capable. One of the key features I need is the ability to sync data with my PC (including outlook) without using any cloud services. I also dislike the tiled UI concept as I find it difficult to use (cognetively).

I guess if they fixed those two issues for me and the local telco allowed me to have multiple sims on the account without charging extra monthly fees for doing so I would have probably gotten one as a second device by now (same goes for android).

So I guess from my perspective, for my usage critera it is not yet 'fit for purpose', however I expect for other people who dont have the same needs it is probably a perfectly fine device.

In case people haven't noticed - The Local tab in Bing Search is finally showing results in NZ. Not sure when it started, but I noticed a week or two ago.

For some reason, my 'local' tab gives me results in Santiago - despite having the use my location switched on. Most other searches come back with no local results. Perhaps its due to being parallel imported Aussie phone (720)

can you clarify what you want to do?

you sign in using a live.com MS Account?
you have added an outlook.com email address or alias?
you want to send from this address on the phone?
you don't want to rename live.com to outlook.com addr?
