I wonder if we will see any Pre 3's in NZ at firesale prices.

I found out about this news couple a days ago and wanted to pick up a 16gb HP TouchPad but due to school I wasn't able to go pick one up at the first day of the price slash :( I guess I'm outta luck... Any chances that I might still able to pick up a 16gb HP TouchPad for around $100? I checked many websites but they retail at $300 :( I live in Auckland btw

Mobicity have got back to me quoting $299 for the 16GB, and $369 for the 32GB. IOW, the same rates as on their website. I have emailed them back questioning this, as I was told orders of five or more units would be available at the wholesale price. If they cannot do that, I will not be proceeding with the order.

I think the problem with the Pre 3 in New Zealand is the operating frequencies are not compatible with New Zealand

Hopefully some sort of discount would be possible for 20 - even though I'm too late to make the 20, it's good to see someone helping follow geekzoners.

Depending on the price, there might be a few drop out or extras wanting to join (perhaps another order if someone else wants to start one), in either case I'd be keen to get 2 at a reasonable price (for twin daughters so anyone offering a good deal with a limit of 1 per customer is not an option for me).

I've told Mobicity that I'm not interested at the prices they quoted me. If the price is still too rich for me when they get back to me (which I suspect it will be; looks like they don't want to move much), I'll give someone here the opportunity to take the reins and drive this.

I knew I would regret not taking a screen cap of the conversation with the online rep. Rookie mistake. :-(

Sorry for letting the team down, guys. There is still a slim chance I guess, but I'd not be betting on a significantly reduced price.

I'm sure one of us can 'mock' one up :P

Don't kick yourself. You're trying, which is noble in of itself.

Wow seriously? Was it an opened box buyer's remorse situation?

In most cases lining up didn't even help. I was in line in Wellington and they had none to sell at all. Ah well, just the luck of the draw.
